ABOUT ME

Hi! I'm Lauren Muller, and I am honored to serve as a teacher this coming year. I recently graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Elementary Education and Psychology.

My teaching philosophy...

My goal as a teacher is to make every student feel valued and important. Depending on students’ family situations, they may not receive encouragement and attention at home. While in my classroom, I want every child to know they have instrinsic worth that is not determined by their abilities. Students of every race, socioeconomic background, religion, and intelligence deserve equal access to a quality education.

I strongly believe that so many students struggle later in school because they did not establish a solid foundation in elementary school, and I want to combat this problem. I aspire to have all my students reach their full potential.  As a teacher, I plan to provide my students with all the tools they require to succeed and master the material. Students in my classroom will work in groups because students often learn better with help from their peers rather than from just their instructor alone. My students will be given the opportunity to imagine, create, and discover while in the classroom. Every student will learn to think for themselves, and work towards accomplishing the goals they set. I hope to inspire the next generation of high achievers and creative thinkers like my teachers did for me.

This image was created using the website www.wordle.net. This tool creates word clouds, which are visual representations of word frequency in a text. The more often a word appears in the text, the larger it will be represented in the word cloud. This allows students to be able to identify major themes and ideas from a text.
